After another long week, I bask in the deserved feeling of feeling accomplished, esteemed in my role, and “spent.” There is so much from this week to be proud of so much to look forward to in the next few weeks. The mild linger aroma of sweat from the seams of where the arms meet the torso on my grey bomber. My eyes are heavy. The world looks different on a Friday afternoon, and its awesome.
And I am doing my slow, savored, victory lap through my refuge that is Best Buy.
The new bathroom is so nice. The color scheme of the tiles fit the brand of the store so well. I have literally said before: “It’d be nice if Best Buy bathrooms are Best Buy themed,” and now they are.
And I’m at the TVs, in my: “published-author-of-a-smash-hit” fantasy.
The screens glow in my face.
Its a Friday afternoon, the same time. I am on a high grain, luxury sofa in front of the nicest Sony Bravio, in my large den, in shorts and a T. My arms, legs, and back, are sore from my most recent workout. It’s been a “lounging” kind of day. I open my laptop to read some of my entries of being a BHP for the County and being at JP. The words become memories and I can almost smell the lingering sweat and feel the heaviness in my eyes and the mild, deserved, inescapable joy of a working man’s Friday afternoon after 5. There’s something about it that’s almost like a fantasy. Then I close my laptop, and see Amar curled up with a book on the end of the sofa.
This fantasy is better.
